Care work

May 2025 - December 2025

together. feminist. organized.

Upgrading care work and organizing it in a feminist way

In the care sector, people perform daily work without which our society would not function. And for years, people have been fighting for greater recognition of this work, better working conditions, and more staff! They criticize their precarious situation with low wages, far too much overtime, and the lack of political will to organize care work differently.
Migrants and people with disabilities (FLINTA*) in particular work in these areas – whether in the intensive care unit, in cleaning, in the kitchen, or in the kindergarten. Without them, nothing would work!

But what can we do to change everything? To put care at the center of the economy? What opportunities are there in Germany for broad feminist alliances to fight together for the common good and gender equality? What experiences have colleagues and activists had with joint strikes? What battles have been won and lost? And when do we meet?

We address these questions in the project together.feminist.organized In addition to four online workshops we organize a Conference in Leipzig and produce a new season of the podcast Thanks for Nothing. The feminist podcast about care and the economy.

Online workshop series “When do we meet?”

We want to discuss these questions together in four online workshops. In addition to interactive methods that provide space for your own experiences and thoughts, we will hear various inputs from our guests. Individual sessions in the workshop series are available for attendance. The workshops will be conducted in spoken German.
