We're starting the second season! In this one, we're exploring feminist union and alliance work. How can (queer) feminist labor struggles contribute to greater social recognition for care work?
In the first episode, we delve into the topic of "feminist union work" – in conversation with two people who have experience in alliance work with the ver.di union. We want to find out: What alliances have already existed between workers and feminist activists? How are unions and feminism connected? What are common goals and visions?
In the news, we also look at the UK, where a Supreme Court ruling is being sharply criticized, and examine the coalition agreement of the current German government. In the vision, Franzi Helms introduces the newly founded care union LUA – the League for Unpaid Work.

Definitions
TVöD: The TVöD (collective agreement for the public sector) applies to approximately 2,5 million public sector employees, both at federal and municipal levels. This includes employees and civil servants in various areas such as administration, police, schools and universities, nursing, fire service, and many other public services.
TVL: The collective agreement for the public service of the German states (TV-L) applies to approximately 2,5 million employees in the public service of the German states. This covers a wide range of professions and areas of activity, including employees in public administrations, schools, universities, technical institutions, hospitals, libraries, and more.
Note: Before the TVöD (collective agreement for the public sector) and the TV-L (collective agreement for the public sector of the states) came into force in 2005 and 2006, uniform collective agreements applied to the federal, state, and local governments. These were the Federal Employees' Collective Agreement (BAT) and the Federal Framework Collective Agreement for Blue-Collar Workers (MTArb). The separation of TVöD and TV-L in the public sector has been criticized for leading to unequal treatment in terms of pay (the TVÖD pay scale is higher than the TVL) and working hours (colleagues in TV-L work longer hours), reduced employee assertiveness, and injustice (different weekly working hours). One vision is to have a collective agreement for all employees.
