Agricultural land in Germany is very unevenly distributed, and non-agricultural investors and large-scale farms are increasingly using land as a speculative asset. This is driving up land prices and leading to the concentration of large areas in the hands of a few, profit-oriented actors. A fair land policy aims to democratize the land market, allocate land according to social and ecological principles, and establish fair distribution.
