On the importance of education in societal transformation processes
Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) is crucial for the necessary socio-ecological transformation of society and urgently needs to be structurally embedded. This handbook provides an overview of ESD and guidance for research and practice. It facilitates a critical examination of the various disciplinary discourses, institutional frameworks, the design of specific teaching and learning formats, and remaining research gaps.
