Germany stands at a crossroads, like any nation that hosts destructive corporations. It can either continue to play the role of a leader in climate protection while simultaneously enabling the exploitation of natural resources, or it must opt for genuine accountability by dismantling unjust legal systems, acknowledging its colonial past, and taking responsibility.
Nicholas Omonuk , founder of End Fossil Occupy Uganda, explains the impunity of companies as a lack of accountability for environmental destruction and human rights violations, and shows how weak laws and power imbalances enable such abuses.
