Transformative learning through engagement

A handbook for cooperation projects

A handbook for cooperation projects between schools and non-school actors in the context of education for sustainable development

This handbook is a result of the research project "Transformative Learning through Engagement – Social Innovations as a Driver of Environmental Education and Education for Sustainable Development." In cooperation with schools and civil society sustainability initiatives, the project initiated so-called service-learning learning workshops to inspire children and young people to engage in sustainability. The handbook provides theoretical background knowledge, practical recommendations, methods, and materials for conducting such learning workshops in the context of education for sustainable development. It is aimed at multipliers in school and extracurricular educational work, as well as practitioners involved in socio-ecological change, and aims to encourage them to experiment with innovative learning methods and advocate for sustainability-oriented learning cultures.
