feminist & decolonial

Illustration with different colored shapes on a blue circular backgroundPart of the project: What holds the world together?

What does it mean to design (educational) events in a discrimination-sensitive and intersectional manner? What responsibility do I have in this regard as an organizer or space-keeper?

In this event, Amel Yacef will share her own experiences with a particular focus on feminist and decolonial approaches. Key themes include challenges in the context of allyship and solidarity within feminist and decolonial movements and how to address them, as well as power dynamics and how oppression is reproduced and can be broken down.

The conversation invites you to reflect on your own work with regard to sensitivity to discrimination and inspires you to strengthen your own feminist and decolonial stance.

Speaker: Amel Yacef, Algerian and living in Ireland for 25 years, is passionate about social, anti-racist and gender justice and strengthens marginalized communities through transformative and healing processes.

Language: English with simultaneous interpretation into spoken German
