The goal of the Caring City – easily accessible care infrastructure and short distances in everyday life – is also applicable to rural areas. One could say: the village serves as the model. In reality, the lack of services in rural areas is the flip side of urban concentration. While some Caring City approaches can be transferred to rural areas, others encounter structural limitations in terms of space, personnel, and mobility. Added to this are financing issues that far exceed the budgets of small municipalities. International examples can provide inspiration here as well: they demonstrate how care infrastructure can be strengthened and supported by mobile solutions, especially in peripheral areas. After brief presentations, we will explore creative visions together and consider: How can care infrastructure be developed and secured beyond urban logic?
