Workshop as part of the educational weekend “For Care! Strengthening Queer Feminist Movements”
Care work is exploited on various levels: paid and unpaid care work remains unequally distributed globally and within societies, and the social and healthcare systems are affected by austerity policies and structural bottlenecks. At the same time, there are numerous resistance movements, struggles, and visions for a fairer economy and more equitable living environments.
In this workshop, we will explore how individuals and collectives are already fighting for more equitable forms of care work, what approaches they are pursuing, and what care utopias they are developing. Together, we will learn from examples, study them, and design our own utopias.
The speaker Kleo Becker from Konzeptwerk Neue Ökonomie Kleo is interested in intersectional perspectives and class issues and advocates for queer lifestyles. At Konzeptwerk, she works to promote the social revaluation of care work. She wants to contribute to ensuring that marginalized perspectives are given more of a voice in care debates.
